11th Sitting of the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee
At the sitting held on 28 February, the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee deliberated on the state-of-play in agriculture before the coming sowing season – stimulation package realization plan.
Stanojevic said that the Ministry is expected to pass five new rulebooks to introduce new stimulation packages or expand the existing ones. Stanojevic said they are currently issuing funds for fattening, breeding cattle, milk premiums, and starting 1 March they will start paying primary plant production premiums.
Zoran Janjatovic presented the rulebook on subsidies for the construction of silos, cold storage and other storage objects for the production and processing of crops, fruit and vegetables, and construction of dairy processing farms. He said one of the rulebooks will cover subsidies for the procurement of mechanisation such as tractors for fruit and wine production. Janjatovic added that, as a new stimulation measure, a rulebook will be passed to help support small agricultural producers to set up their own agricultural households.
Committee Chairman Marijan Risticevic said that the abovementioned measures are very important for the development of agriculture in Serbia, however, he said that the pre-sowing situation needs to be reported on in more detail. At the same time he stressed the need to soon adopt the announced rulebooks hoping that they will maximally serve the coming sowing season. The Committee members agreed with the Chairman that reports on the situation need to be more detailed and hoped that the rulebooks would meet the needs of both the undeveloped areas of Serbia and environmental protection.
In view of the coming sowing season the Committee recommended that the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection adopt the rulebooks relating to stimulation packages for agriculture and rural development.
The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Marijan Risticevic, and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Marko Gavrilovic, Zarko Bogatinovic, Nada Lazic, Radovan Jancic, Prof. Dr Miladin Sevarlic, Dr Ljubinko Rakonjac, Milija Miletic, Goran Jesic, Zvonimir Djokic, Tijana Davidovac and MA Marko Milenkovic.
