11th session of the Education Committee
At the request of six of its members, the Education Committee held its eleventh session on 10 November.
At the request of six of its members, the Education Committee held its eleventh session on 10 November. The session was chaired by Donka Banovic, Committee chairperson.
The Committee discussed the attempts to introduce instruction in Bosnian in the first and second grades of primary schools on the territory of the Republic of Serbia, in the municipalities of Novi Pazar, Tutin and Sjenica.
Slobodan Vuksanovic, the Minister of Education and Sports, along with several aides, attended the Committee’s session.
The Committee resolved to request that the Ministry of Education and Sports should examine claims, presented at the session of the Education Committee, that instruction in Bosnian is being conducted in certain primary schools in the municipalities of Novi Pazar, Tutin and Sjenica. The Committee asked the Ministry to take appropriate measures to discontinue instruction not being held in accordance with legislation, and to inform the Committee of the fact.
The participants in the session agreed to initiate the Implementing education reform together programme by visiting Belgrade University.
