12th Sitting of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government

At the sitting held on 15 November, the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government considered the High Judicial Council 2011 Activity Report, 2011 Report on the activities of public prosecutor’s offices on the suppression of crime and protection of constitutionality and legality and the Equality Protection Commissioner’s 2011 Regular Annual Report.


The reports were presented by Nata Mesarovic, President of the High Judicial Council and Supreme Court of Cassation, Gordana Janicijevic, Deputy Republic Public Prosecutor and Nevena Petrusic, Commissioner for Protection of Equality.

The Committee accepted the annual activity reports of the judicial institutions, adding some comments and suggestions, and restated its conclusion to prepare a proposal of conclusions and recommendations for one of its upcoming sittings, which it will then propose to be adopted by the National Assembly having previously reviewed the annual activity reports of all independent state bodies.

The Committee deemed itself not competent to debate the Request of the former Anti-Corruption Agency Director, Zorana Markovic.

The sitting was chaired by Petar Petrovic, Committee Chairman.
