27th Sitting of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues

At the sitting held on 22 March 2021, the members of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues considered, in principle, Bill amending the Law on the 2021 Census of Population, Households and Dwellings, submitted by the Government.

The Committee members found the abovementioned Bill to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The Committee went on to find, in principle, the Bill on Museum Activity, submitted by the Government, and the Bill amending the Law on Judges, submitted by MPs Djordje Komlenski, Marijan Risticevic, Ana Karadzic and Bojan Torbica, to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The Committee also fond, in principle, the Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina concerning the maintenance and reconstruction of road interstate bridges between the Republic of Serbia Bosnia and Herzegovina, submitted by the Government, and the Proposal of the Decision on Declaration of Old and Rare Library Material as Cultural Heritage of Exceptional Importance, submitted by the Government, to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The Committee then proceeded to respond to the Constitutional Court on the initiative for the assessment of constitutionality of the provisions of Article 5, item 5, and articles 7, 141 and 150 of the Law on the Rights of Soldiers, Disabled Veterans, Civilian Disabled Veterans and Family Members.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Jelena Zaric Kovacevic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Nevena Veinovic, Zeljko Tomic, Olja Petrovic, Vuk Mircetic, Luka Kebara, Ugljesa Mrdic, Djuro Peric, Dubravka Kralj, Arpad Fremond, Dijana Radovic, Milenko Jovanov and Violeta Ocokoljic.
