32nd Sitting of the Foreign Affairs Committee

At the sitting held on 7 December the members of the Foreign Affairs Committee considered the Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the United Nations Office for Project Services on the opening of a United Nations Office for Project Services in Belgrade, Republic of Serbia.

The Bill was presented by Dr Slavoljub Caric of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Agreement was signed in 2017 with the UNOPS project team which has been a component part of UNDP since 1995. The Agreement was signed on grounds of the 2016-2020 development partnership and for the regulation of the legal status of UNOPS on the territory of the Republic of Serbia. UNOPS deals with development projects and is active in regions hit by natural disasters or recovering from war conflicts. The projects are financed by bilateral donations and in co-operation with the Government of the Republic of Serbia and support reform processes.

Following a brief debate the Committee members unanimously accepted the Bill.

The Committee went on to adopt three initiatives for visits, a number of reports on realized visits and noted a number of parliamentary and other realized contacts.

It also established a PFG with Pakistan, to be headed by Prof. Dr Vladimir Marinkovic, and noted the changes in the composition of the PFGs with Montenegro, Hungary, Macedonia, the Czech Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Romania, Turkey and China.

The sitting was attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Dusica Stojkovic, Ljiljana Malusic, Dragan Sormaz, Jovan Palalic, Dubravka Filipovski, Vera Jovanovic, Milisav Petronijevic, Djordje Vukadinovic and Tijana Davidovac.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Prof. Dr Zarko Obradovic.
