37th session of the Finance Committee

At its session held on 6 September 2005, the Finance Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia discussed a report of the Budget Control of the Ministry of Finance.

At its session held on 6 September 2005, the Finance Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia discussed a report of the Budget Control of the Ministry of Finance.

The Budget Control report, on expenditure at the Ministry of Defence of Serbia and Montenegro, was presented by the Minister of Finance in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Mladjan Dinkic.

After a discussion lasting several hours, and attended by, in addition to Committee members, other interested deputies, the Finance Committee endorsed the Report and asked the Ministry of Finance to present regular reports on controlling expenditure by the Serbia and Montenegro Ministry of Defence.

The Finance Committee proposed that the Government of the Republic of Serbia should draft amendments to the Public Procurement Act and other legislation regulating the field. The Committee expressed its expectation that the Chairman of the National Assembly, Predrag Markovic, would agree with heads of deputies’ groups on the manner the National Assembly would treat controversial purchases of army equipment.

The session was chaired by the chairman of the Finance Committee, Nenad Bogdanovic.
