3rd session of the Youth and Sports Committee

At its third session, held on 8 November, the Youth and Sports Committee discussed and in principle endorsed the Bill on the Prevention of Substance Abuse in Sports.


At its third session, held on 8 November, the Youth and Sports Committee discussed and in principle endorsed the Bill on the Prevention of Substance Abuse in Sports.

The session also discussed 38 amendments submitted to the Bill. The Committee endorsed 31 amendment.

The deputies were acquainted with an official document of the Sports Directorate relating to the Belgrade’s bid to host the 2009 World University Games. The bid received unanimous support.

Committee members discussed an initiative put forward by the Serbia and Montenegro Sports for All Association to hold the First Balkan Workers’ Winter Sports Festival. As Brezovica is the proposed venue for the Festival, the Committee asked the Sports Directorate for an opinion on security conditions and financial possibilities for holding the Festival.

The Director of the Sports Directorate, Aleksandar Sostar, along with his associates, took part in the session.
