42nd Sitting of the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee

At the sitting held on 22 May, the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee discussed anti-hail protection.

The sitting was attended by Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Branislav Nedimovic, Ministry State Secretary Zeljko Radosevic, Director of the Hydrometeorological Service Jugoslav Nikolic and the Director of the Cacak Fruit Research Institute Dr Milan Lukic, who informed the Committee about the counter-measures employed against the inclement weather and hail that hit a number of places in Serbia on 19 May.

In a lengthy discussion, the Committee members and attending MPs spoke about the efficiency of the relevant authorities in charge of anti-hail protection. Concluding the sitting, Committee Deputy Chairman Arpad Fremond said that the Ministry needs to appeal to local self-governments to secure funds for the purchase of anti-hail protection as it is a matter of some urgency.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Marijan Risticevic and Committee Deputy Chairman Arpad Fremond, and was attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Dragan Savkic, Zarko Bogatinovic, Dragan Jovanovic, Radovan Jancic, Milorad Mircic, Prof. Dr Miladin Sevarlic, Dr Ljubinko Rakonjac, Milija Miletic, Aleksandra Jevtic, Tijana Davidovac and Zvonimir Djokic.
