7th session of the Youth and Sports Committee

The Youth and Sports Committee held its seventh session on 11 July. The session was chaired by the chairman of the Committee, Jovan Todorovic.


The Youth and Sports Committee held its seventh session on 11 July. The session was chaired by the chairman of the Committee, Jovan Todorovic.

Officials of the Ministry of Education took part in the session, presenting the deputies with instructions on the organisation of sports events in schools. The Committee resolved to support Ministry activities aimed at improving the situation in the field and introducing sports into schools. The Committee is to send an official letter to local self-government bodies to ask for support and more funding for school sports activities from municipal budgets.

The Committee discussed and endorsed a report of the Ministry of Justice on the effects achieved so far by the Act on Preventing Violence and Misbehaviour at Sports Events, a report on the number of misdemeanour sanctions adjudged, as well as the report on the implementation of Phase Five of the Committee’s project, organised in co-operation with the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe.

The chairman of the Committee informed members about possibilities of implementing another OSCE project in co-operation with the Youth and Sports Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.
