Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians Parliamentary Group Members Meet with Hungarian National Assembly Speaker
As part of the visit of the Hungarian delegation, headed by the Speaker of the Parliament Laszlo Kover, to the National Assembly House, the guests met with the members of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians Parliamentary Group.
Balint Pasztor, Head of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians Parliamentary Group, and Elvira Kovacs, who is also a National Assembly Deputy Speaker, together with their colleagues, introduced the Hungarian delegation to the way the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia works and its control role.
The officials agreed that regardless of the very high level of cooperation and understanding between the two countries, parliamentary exchange and cooperation can be even stronger, and that the Vojvodina Hungarians have a special role in this matter, as do the representatives of the Serbian people and on the Hungarian side. The spokesperson of the Serbian community in the Hungarian National Assembly thanked the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians who speak out in the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia about the importance of the Serbian Government's investments in various projects in Hungary, which help the position of Serbs in this country.
The officials also discussed joint infrastructure projects and economic cooperation from the point of view of parliamentarians and finding new forms of cooperation through the Strategic Council for Cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and Hungary, whose session is being prepared for mid-November of the current year.
The topics of the conversation also concerned close cooperation on regional issues, such as the process of integration of the Western Balkans and the protection of the rights of minorities, with the officials agreeing to continue investing in strong cooperation, mutual respect and a common commitment to promoting peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
