The Chairperson of the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee Marija Obradovic said she was pleased by the regular meetings and exchange of experiences between the two parliaments’ committees in charge of defence and security. She agreed with the Chair of the Joint Committee on Defence and Security Sifet Podzic that interparliamentary cooperation is essential for the stability of the countries in the region and their European integration process. The officials added that they are most pleased with the political consensus reached in both countries as regards the importance and priority of European integration.

The Head of the National Assembly standing delegation to NATO PA Dragan Sormaz said that, though Serbia is military neutral, the Assembly’s delegation is very active in the NATO PA. He added that the Serbian and BiH parliamentarians’ cooperation within the international parliamentary organization is very good.

In the course of the meeting with the members of the BiH delegation Sifet Podzic, Borjana Kristo and Borislav Bojic, the members of the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee Gordana Comic, Marko Djurisic, Dubravka Filipovski, Borislav Kovacevic, Prof. Dr Zoran Dragisic and Momcilo Mandic exchanged work-related experiences stressing the importance of interparliamentary cooperation on current regional and global challenges, natural disasters and parliamentary oversight of the security sector and human rights protection.
