Closer Cooperation between Serbia and United Arab Emirates

The members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the United Arab Emirates headed by Jelena Zaric Kovacevic met with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Serbia, H.E. Juma Rashed Al Dhaheri to discuss the two countries’ cooperation and relations.

Jelena Zaric Kovacevic stressed that Serbia truly appreciates its multifaceted cooperation with the UAE, especially in the fields of economy, infrastructure and at the military level. She added that cultural cooperation could stand to be intensified so that the two nations could learn more about their respective customs and cultural heritage.

Juma Rashed Al Dhaheri thanked the head and members of the PFG for the invitation, reaffirming the excellent relations and cooperation between the two countries which happens to be excellent in the fields of agriculture, renewable energy sources and military affairs. The Ambassador agreed that cultural cooperation could be more fruitful, which he was sure it would become soon. Al Dhaheri said that humanitarian cooperation with the Emirates is very important because it provides help to those who need it. 27 initiatives of this kind were realized during his four years in office, which is something the Emirates are really proud of.

The PFG members added that the Ambassador whose term of office expires this month can be proud of his results and that they hoped his successor would be just as good at promoting cooperation between the two countries.
