Co-operation with United Nations Development Programme representatives
The chairperson of the Gender Equality Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Leila Ruzdic-Trifunovic, today met United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) representatives, Dona Abdurazakova, of the Bratislava Regional Centre, Angela Me of the Bratislava-based United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, and Jelena Marjanovic of the Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Serbia and Montenegro.
The chairperson of the Gender Equality Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Leila Ruzdic-Trifunovic, today met United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) representatives, Dona Abdurazakova, of the Bratislava Regional Centre, Angela Me of the Bratislava-based United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, and Jelena Marjanovic of the Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Serbia and Montenegro.
The talks centred on the activities of the newly-formed Assembly Committee, stressing, among other issues, the necessity of passing gender equality legislation. Also under discussion was the statistical processing of gender equality data, focusing on the continual collection, monitoring and processing of appropriate statistical information.
UNDP representatives expressed readiness to support the actions of the Gender Equality Committee and other activities improving gender equality in Serbia.
