Constitutional and Legislative Issues Committee Chairperson Opened Belgrade Conference of Lawyers

The Chairperson of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues Jelena Zaric Kovacevic spoke today at the opening of the Belgrade Conference of Lawyers in the National Assembly, greeted all present and wishing them successful work, on behalf of National Assembly Speaker Dr Vladimir Orlic, and on her own behalf.

Zaric Kovacevic expressed her satisfaction that this event is traditionally held in the National Assembly, the holder of constitutional and legislative power in the Republic of Serbia.

She pointed out that in the previous period, the National Assembly had had significant legislative activities, pointing to its notable role in diplomatic relations and representation of Serbia.

The Chairperson of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues specifically referred to the important role the National Assembly played in implementing changes in the field of the judiciary, when a broad consensus was reached through cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, professional associations, holders of judicial office and university professors, highlighting the importance of the National Assembly’s cooperation with experts in various fields, in this case from the field of law.
