Ambassador Chen Bo congratulated Ivica Dacic on his appointment as National Assembly Speaker and wished him success in his new post. Thanking him for his personal contribution to the improvement of bilateral relations between Serbia and China during his time as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Chen Bo expressed her belief that the excellent cooperation will continue in this new position.

Ambassador Chen Bo then presented the National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic with a letter of congratulations on his appointment from the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of the People's Republic of China Li Zhanshu. In his letter, Li Zhanshu points out that National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic has long advocated the development of Chinese-Serbian relations and cooperation and that his visit to China in February of this year, at a difficult time when the Chinese people combated the corona virus, was a great show of support to China. Li Zhanshu is ready to make concerted efforts with National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic to further intensify the cooperation between the Chinese National People's Congress and the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.

National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic again thanked China for all the help it extended to Serbia in the fight against the pandemic.

In the course of the meeting, the officials noted the excellent relations between the two countries across the board and discussed the possibilities for strengthening parliamentary cooperation between Serbia and China.
