Delegations of Serbian and Czech Parliamentary Defense and Security Committees Meet
Chairman of the Committee on Defense and Security Dusan Bajatovic and Committee member Marko Djurisic met today at the National Assembly House with a delegation of the Czech Parliamentary Defense and Security Committee headed by its Chairman Frantisek Bublan.
The ministries of defense and interior, as well as intelligence agencies submit annual activity reports to the Committee and they enjoy excellent cooperation, said Bajatovic, informing the guests that, according to the new Rules of Procedure, two committees will be formed in the next assembly mandate – on defense and internal affairs and control of security services.
Bajatovic said that Serbia has reformed its armed forces the modernisation of which is imminent.
The Czech parliamentarians briefed their hosts on the work of their Committee for Defense and Security as well as its manner of cooperation with and control of the competent ministries. They pointed out that a commission for the control of surveillance was formed recently, tasked with preventing the abuse of the citizens’ right to privacy.
