Diplomat Decorated For Fostering Co-Operation Between France And Serbia

On behalf of the President of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro, Svetozar Marovic, the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, today decorated Christian Timonnier, Minister Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of France in Belgrade, with the Order of the Yugoslav Star, Third Class.


On behalf of the President of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro, Svetozar Marovic, the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, today decorated Christian Timonnier, Minister Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of France in Belgrade, with the Order of the Yugoslav Star, Third Class.

At the request of Mr Markovic, the President of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro, passed the Decree conferring the decoration on M Timonnier for his efforts in fostering bilateral co-operation between the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro and the Republic of France.

Presenting the decoration, Mr Markovic said that only one reason had been quoted in the decree conferring the decoration on M Timonnier, but that the diplomat’s contribution to the development of cordial relations between Serbia and Montenegro and France was immeasurable.

Accepting the decoration, Christian Timonnier expressed his gratitude to Serbia and Montenegro, and especially to Mr Markovic, who was instrumental in having the decoration awarded. M Timonnier said that it was a great honour to receive such recognition, as well as that he considered the decoration an obligation to continue to work on maintaining and improving co-operation between the two countries.
