Dr Aleksandra Tomic Talks to Westminster Foundation for Democracy Evaluators

The Chairperson of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending Dr Aleksandra Tomic met with Westminster Foundation for Democracy evaluators to discuss the National Assembly’s Parliamentary Budget Office project.

The delegation of the Westminster Foundation for Democracy was interested in the results of the Parliamentary Budget Office, its impact on the work of the National Assembly and effects on financial legislation.

Tomic said that in its two years of operation the Parliamentary Budget Office had proven to be of great helped both to the members of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending and other MPs, especially in the analyses of the 2017 and 2018 budget bills.

She commended the experts who worked on the project for managing to prepare analytical budget projections and provide concrete, comprehensive proposals in a very short time, thus helping the MPs present the financial situation to the public in the best way possible.

Finally, the Committee Chairperson thanked the Westminster Foundation for Democracy for the successful cooperation on the project hoping that, in view of the excellent results, it would continue in the future.
