Dr Orlic and Rwandan Parliament Speaker: Over Half Century of Friendship
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Dr Vladimir Orlic met today in Kigali, on the margins of the 145th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, with the Speaker of the Senate Iyamuremye Augustin and the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament Rwanda Donatille Mukabalisa.
In the two separate meetings, Dr Orlic took the opportunity to extend congratulations on the excellent organisation of the IPU. He stressed that the relations between the two countries rest on a friendship over half a century long.
He thanked Rwanda for not recognising the unilaterally declared independence of so-called "Kosovo", that is for supporting the preservation of Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. “You have showed what it means to be a true friend and I would like to thank you for it”, said the National Assembly Speaker
The officials expressed readiness to advance economic cooperation, as well as in the fields of agriculture and infrastructure. They also discussed advancing interparliamentary cooperation at all levels.
