Dr Orlic and Uzbek Senate First Deputy Speaker: Together We Respect International Law
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Dr Vladimir Orlic met today in Kigali, on the sidelines of the 145th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, with the First Deputy Speaker of the Senate of Uzbekistan Akmal Saidov.
As the officials pointed out, the relations between the two countries are good and friendly, with no outstanding issues, based on respect for international law and the territorial integrity of sovereign states. In that regard, Dr Orlic thanked Uzbekistan for its principled stance of non-recognition of the independence of so-called "Kosovo".
The meeting also touched on the improvement of cooperation in numerous areas, primarily in the economy, agriculture and military industry. Dr Orlic announced the formation of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Uzbekistan in the new legislature of the Serbian Assembly, which Saidov applauded, opining it was an excellent way to strengthen cooperation between the two parliaments.
