Dr Orlic with Kenyan Senate Speaker in Kigali: Serbia Ready to Improve Cooperation
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Dr Vladimir Orlic met today in Kigali, on the sidelines of the 145th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, with the Speaker of the Senate of the Republic of Kenya Amason Jeffah Kingi.
"The two countries share friendly relations based on decades of historical ties," said Dr Orlic at the beginning of the meeting. As he added, Serbia is ready to improve bilateral relations with Kenya in all fields of mutual interest.
He expressed gratitude to Kenya for its principled respect of international law and non-recognition of the self-proclaimed independence of so-called "Kosovo".
The speakers of the Assembly of Serbia and the Senate of Kenya also discussed the improvement of relations in numerous areas, primarily the economy, education and culture, as well as interparliamentary cooperation, based on the Memorandum of Cooperation the two parliaments signed in 2019. Dr Orlic expressed his belief that the new parliamentary legislature would also form a Friendship Group with the Republic of Kenya.
