Dr Orlic thanked Venezuela for supporting the Republic of Serbia in the election of the host of EXPO 2027. Minister Pinto said that Venezuela will continue to support the Republic of Serbia at every opportunity, especially in terms of respecting our country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, which, he stressed, is a matter of principle and a stance that will not change in the future. "Being on the side of Serbia means being on the side of public international law," said Dr Orlic, once again thanking Venezuela for not recognizing so-called "Kosovo".
He took the opportunity to inform Minister Pinta in detail about the daily terror carrying out by Albin Kurti against the Serbian people in Kosovo-Metohija, as well as the request of the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic to urgently convene a session of the UN Security Council, in order to inform the whole world about the difficult situation in Kosovo-Metohija. He stressed that, as before, Serbia will remain committed to dialogue and preserving peace and stability for all.
In the course of the meeting, Minister Pinto thanked the Republic of Serbia for the support it provides to Venezuela, especially in previous years. He also praised the leadership of Aleksandar Vucic, expressing his belief that our country, led by its President, will continue on the path of further development, progress and welfare of its citizens. "It is the kind of leadership Europe and the world need today," said Minister Pinto. He also expressed Venezuela's readiness to improve cooperation with friendly Serbia in all areas, with a special focus on the economy and parliamentary connections.
The meeting between the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and Minister Pinto was also attended by Djordje Komlenski, Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Venezuela, who said that the members of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia would be happy to contribute to the improvement of cooperation between the two countries, among other things, by ratifying the agreements which would be signed during Minister Pinto’s visit to Serbia.
