European Integration Committee Chairperson Meets with EP Rapporteur for Serbia
National Assembly Deputy Speaker and Chairperson of the European Integration Committee Elvira Kovacs met today at the National Assembly with the European Parliament rapporteur for Serbia Tonino Picula currently in official visit to Serbia to gain pertinent information for the drafting of the new EP Report on Serbia’s progress.
Elvira Kovacs and the guest discussed the first version of the Report clarifying certain parts of the Resolution and briefed him on the National Assembly’s upcoming activities as the first regular session is due to start in March.
She informed the EP rapporteur for Serbia in detail on the establishment and operation of the Working Group for the Improvement of the Electoral Process to enable the application of the ODIHR recommendations after the parliamentary elections held in April 2022 and December 2023 and the process of election of the REM Council members, drawing attention to the problems in their work and conduct of necessary procedures.
In the course of the meeting she also touched on the issue of aligning Serbia and the EU’s foreign policy.
