First Sitting of the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee

The Defence and Internal Affairs Committee held its first sitting on 8 May 2014. The sitting was convened by National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic, as stipulated in article 25 of the National Assembly Rules of Procedure.


Pending the election of Committee Chairperson, the sitting was chaired by the oldest Committee member, MP Borisav Kovacevic from the Party of United Pensioners of Serbia (PUPS) Parliamentary Group.

By a majority vote, the Committee members elected MP Marija Obradovic, from the Serbian Progressive Party Parliamentary Group, Committee Chairperson and Bojan Kostres, from the League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina Parliamentary Group, Committee Deputy Chairman.
