Fortieth Sitting of the Committee on Science and Technological Development
At the sitting held on 17 February and chaired by Committee Chairman Srboljub Zivanovic, the Committee on Science and Technological Development considered the Bill amending and modifying the Law on 2011 Census of Population, Households and Dwellings, submitted by the Government.
At the sitting held on 17 February and chaired by Committee Chairman Srboljub Zivanovic, the Committee on Science and Technological Development considered the Bill amending and modifying the Law on 2011 Census of Population, Households and Dwellings, submitted by the Government. The sitting was attended by Assistant Director of the Republic Statistical Office Zoran Jancic and department head Snezana Lakcevic.
By a majority of votes, the Committee members ruled to accept the Bill in principle. Dr Janko Veselinovic, Committee member, was appointed the Committee’s rapporteur to the National Assembly sitting.
In the continuation, under “any other business”, the Committee unanimously adopted the following conclusions regarding the debate on the Ministry of Science and Technological Development 2010 Activity Report:
- in 2010, the Ministry of Science and Technological Development had performed the duties within its competence responsibly and exceptionally well;
- the Activity Report should contain a financial report for the same period, which the Ministry will submit to the Committee at a later date, and
- the Ministry of Science and Technological Development should continue the realisation of the Scientific Development Strategy from 2010 to 2015 in the upcoming period, as well as continue to urge for more substantial financial support for science.
