Fortieth Sitting of the Industry Committee

At the sitting held on 19 July, the Industry Committee considered the Energy Bill in principle.


At the sitting held on 19 July, the Industry Committee considered the Energy Bill in principle.

Assistant Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Milos Banjac informed the Committee members on the innovations contained in the Bill. He said that the new law gradually opens up the electricity and natural gas market and stimulates energy production from renewable sources.

The Committee members endorsed the Energy Bill in principle.

The Committee decided to organise a public hearing on the Energy Bill on 20 July at the National Assembly House. They invited the MPs, representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, representatives of public enterprises dealing in energy production, experts, representatives of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Serbian Union of Employers, as well as representatives of the association of consumers and local self-government to the gathering.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Milorad Buha.
