The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic started her official visit to the People’s Republic of China by visiting the ZTE Corporation for telecommunications equipment and systems in Beijing and meeting its Vice-President Alan Lin.

During the meeting with ZTE, a global leader in innovation, Gojkovic spoke about the Corporation’s development and business plans in Serbia stressing how important it is for Serbia that the company continue to pursue its ambitious business plans in the country.

Gojkovic said that she is impressed by the company’s results and vision for future development, saying she was glad that Serbia is one of the 160 countries the Corporation is doing business in and that the signing of a number of treaties such as the memorandum of understanding and cooperation with the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications and Ministry of Defence has set the groundwork for the development and deepening of cooperation in other areas as well.

The Parliament Speaker asked the corporate management to consider boosting their presence in Serbia, intensifying activities relating to information technologies and commended the company’s plan to take part in the construction of the Belgrade-Budapest high-speed railway.

Gojkovic also thanked ZTE for being one of the first corporations to send help to Serbia during the 2014 floods.
