Gojkovic Meets with Russian Ambassador
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic met today with Russian Ambassador to Serbia Alexander Chepurin to discuss advancing parliamentary cooperation and overall relations between the two countries.
The officials agreed that the overall relations between Serbia and the Russian Federation are very intense and that parliamentary cooperation, based on the cooperation agreements with the State Duma and the Russian Federation Council, is exceptional and takes pride of place in the two countries’ relations.
Gojkovic and Chepurin emphasized the importance of the regular session of the Russian State Duma - National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Cooperation Commission and its coming fourth meeting in Belgrade in June, to be attended by a State Duma delegation headed by Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
Gojkovic said that Belgrade will be hosting the 141st IPU assembly in October which she hopes would be attended by a high-tier Russian delegation.
Gojkovic and Chepurin also spoke about economic and cultural cooperation and the upcoming activities in the two fields.
