Gojkovic and Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly Delegation

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic met today with the PFG delegation of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran visiting Serbia.

Talking to the members of the Iranian Parliamentary Friendship Group with Serbia Gojkovic stressed the good and friendly relations between the two countries are further developed and enhanced through the visits and dialogue between their officials. Gojkovic emphasized the importance of an uninterrupted development of interparliamentary relations and urged to expand the cooperation between working bodies and friendship groups.

The National Assembly Speaker thanked Iran for respecting international law and Serbia’s territorial integrity i.e. for not recognizing the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo-Metohija.

The Head of the PFG with Serbia at the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly Parvaneh Salahshouri said she was very pleased by today’s visit, arranged with the Serbian National Assembly Speaker at the inauguration of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani.

Salahshouri emphasized the importance of furthering relations saying she hoped that the parliamentary meetings would contribute to the development of cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, education and culture.
