To that end, Gojkovic and Al Qubaisi signed an agreement on the establishment of a National Assembly - Federal National Council Friendship Parliamentary Association to strengthen friendship, advance interparliamentary cooperation and support the development of political, economic, trade and cultural relations in view of the two friendly countries’ rising common interests.

Gojkovic said that Serbia greatly appreciates its relationship with the United Arab Emirates and invited the Federal National Council Speaker to visit Serbia, which Al Qubaisi was grateful for.

Al Qubaisi agreed that the relations between the two countries are good and that interparliamentary cooperation should be improved, which is why the cooperation agreement was signed, and added she was sure an exchange of parliamentary visits would contribute to the development of relations in the sphere.

The National Assembly Speaker said hat it is in Serbia’s interest to further economic cooperation with the United Arab Emirates, pointing out that there is plenty of potential for it in agriculture, education, culture and science.

The National Assembly Speaker is taking part in the Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament in Abu Dhabi, co-organised by the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates.
