Gojkovic and UAE Parliament Speaker
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic met today with the Speaker of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates Amal Al Qubaisi, and the two parliament speakers agreed that the political, economic and cultural relations between Serbia and the United Arab Emirates are progressing and the two parliaments would contribute to the two countries’ cooperation.
Gojkovic said that Serbia greatly appreciates its relationship with the United Arab Emirates and invited the Federal National Council Speaker to visit Serbia, which Al Qubaisi was grateful for.
Al Qubaisi agreed that the relations between the two countries are good and that interparliamentary cooperation should be improved, which is why the cooperation agreement was signed, and added she was sure an exchange of parliamentary visits would contribute to the development of relations in the sphere.
The National Assembly Speaker said hat it is in Serbia’s interest to further economic cooperation with the United Arab Emirates, pointing out that there is plenty of potential for it in agriculture, education, culture and science.
The National Assembly Speaker is taking part in the Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament in Abu Dhabi, co-organised by the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates.
