The Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Argentina Dragan Markovic and PFG members Stasa Stojanovic and Slobodan Cvejic, spoke today with the Ambassador of the Republic of Argentina to the Republic of Serbia Osvaldo Narciso Marsico about improving cooperation between the two countries.
Markovic emphasized that the two countries are strongly connected by mutual support in preserving the territorial integrity of both countries and expressed gratitude for Argentina's clear position not to recognize the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo, as well as for representing Serbia's interests in international organizations.
Ambassador Marsico stressed that today's meeting is an opportunity to exchange ideas on improving bilateral relations between the two countries, and the officials agreed that parliamentary diplomacy can play a key role in deepening relations, to which the newly formed Friendship Group with Serbia in the Argentine Parliament should make a special contribution.
Speaking about trade and economic cooperation, the Ambassador said that Argentina should focus more on cooperation with the Balkans and sees room for economic growth and development there. The officials agreed that the two countries have always had close and friendly relations and that they should be developed and nurtured through contacts through sports and especially culture.
In the course of the meeting, the Ambassador spoke about Argentina's main foreign policy goals and informed his hosts about the current political situation in that country.
PFG Head Markovic invited the MPs in the PFG with Serbia to visit our country.
