Head of PFG with Japan Receives Japanese Ambassador to Serbia in Farewell Visit

Today, the Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Japan Snezana Paunovic received Japanese Ambassador to Serbia Takahiko Katsumata, in a farewell visit, and on the occasion pointed out that Japan is an important and friendly country for Serbia.

Paunovic opined that Ambassador Katsumata had made a great contribution to the development of political relations, as well as ties between the two countries in the fields of culture and economy. She went on to say that the two parliaments’ friendship groups can make a strong contribution to the further development of interparliamentary cooperation, highlighting the importance of mutual visits by parliamentary delegations in the coming period.

Ambassador Katsumata agreed that Serbia and Japan are friendly countries with a long tradition of diplomatic relations and thanked the PFG Head for her personal commitment to the improvement of bilateral cooperation.

The officials jointly assessed that in the past period, Serbia and Japan had faced challenges that further strengthened the friendship between the two countries and two peoples, adding that similar historical experiences had led us to share the view that war should be avoided at all costs, which further unites our two countries in fostering common values.
