Head of PFG with Mexico Meets with Mexican Ambassador to Serbia

The Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Mexico Ana Karadzic met today with the Mexican Ambassador to Serbia H.E. Marco Antonio García Blanco, at his initiative, to discuss the upcoming elections in Mexico.

The Ambassador briefed the Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group on the situation in Mexico and the coming elections for President of the United Mexican States, Senators, delegates, governors and public servants planned for July 2018. Seeing how the electorate boasts over 84 million voters, the Ambassador wanted to discuss this biggest election in the history of the country with the members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Mexico and hear their views on it.

The Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Mexico Ana Karadzic said that Serbia greatly values its multilateral and bilateral relations with Mexico and that she would organize a meeting between the members of the Friendship Group and the Ambassador as soon as possible. Karadzic reminded the Ambassador that she had invited Mexican Senator Gabriela Cuevas Barron to take part in the seminar of the Inter-Parliamentary Union to be held in Belgrade on 24 and 25 May, with the topic “Sustainable Development Goals”.

The Ambassador took the opportunity to inform the MP about the strong cultural ties between Serbia and Mexico, as evidenced, for example, by the exhibition dedicated to the biography of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo in the Cervantes Institute.
