Marija Obradovic Re-Elected Vice-President of Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe

MP Marija Obradovic, member of the National Assembly’s standing delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), was re-elected PACE Vice-President at the organization’s plenary session. She will be holding the post for the duration of 2018.


Marija Obradovic has been at PACE since 2014 and a member of the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy and the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights.

The Serbian delegation at the PACE January session is headed by Dr Aleksandra Tomic and comprises MPs Dubravka Filipovski, Prof. Dr Zarko Obradovic, Elvira Kovacs, Aleksandar Seselj and Aleksandar Stevanovic. The main topics of the session are protection of regional and minority languages, situation in Ukraine, protection of children in war conflicts, Israeli-Palestinian relations, Turkish military intervention in Syria, and the parliamentarians will be addressed by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, Danish Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen and Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen.

In the course of the PACE session, the Political Committee is expected to exchange views on the situation in Kosovo-Metohija and Serbia’s rights and duties stemming from its membership in the Monitoring Committee.
