On 20 April, chairpersons of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the European Integrations Committee, Gordana Comic and Ksenija Milivojevic, and member of the European Integrations Committee, Vojkan Tomic, met members of the France – Serbia and Montenegro Friendship Group. The delegation was made up of Senators Monique Papon, Francois Trucy, and Andre Ruviere, and the French Ambassador to Serbia and Montenegro, Hugues Pernet.
The deputies acquainted the French delegation with the current situation in Serbia, in light of the European integration process and the positive assessment of the Feasibility Study. They explained reasons for initiating the formation of a standing body that would work on implementing European principles, and whose organisation and powers would be determined by parliaments of countries in the region.
The French Senators expressed their readiness to assist such an initiative to the fullest extent of their powers, through contact with regional organisations and agencies, chambers of commerce and industry, and other institutions in France.
