Memorandum on mutual understanding between OSCE and the National Assembly signed
The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, and the Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro, Maurizio Massari, today signed a Memorandum on mutual understanding.

The Memorandum foresees continued co-operation between OSCE and the National Assembly in the fields of rule of law and democratisation. The Memorandum also aims at improving the institutional development of the Assembly in accordance with the best international experiences, and with the final aim of improving the efficiency of the work of the Assembly.
After the signing of the Memorandum, Mr Markovic and Mr Massari jointly expressed their mutual pleasure with the co-operation effected so far between OSCE and the Assembly, and underlined that the National Assembly was the most important institution in the process of integration of the Republic of Serbia with the European Union.
Mr Massari stressed that the OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro was satisfied with the co-operation effected so far, both with the National Assembly and with its Chairman, Predrag Markovic. He added that opening the doors of the Assembly for members of the public was an important step, a good example and a great contribution to democratisation, strengthening the rule of law and making the work of institutions in Serbia more transparent.
