National Assembly Delegation at SEE Parliaments’ Defence and Security Committees Annual Meeting

The Chairman of the Security Services Control Committee MA Igor Becic and members of the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee Dubravka Filipovski and Nemanja Radojevic are taking part in the Annual Meeting of South-East European Parliaments’ Defence and Security Committees, in Tirana, 5 – 6 November.

The National Assembly delegation presented the oversight mechanisms and practices implemented by the relevant committees, with a special focus on the practices employed by the Security Services Control Committee in the direct oversight of the legality of the work of the security services. Serbia’s progress and degree of adaptation to European IT standards was recognized as particularly noteworthy.

The goal of this year's meeting is to provide insight into the mechanisms and practices of parliamentary committees on defence and security, enable the participants to exchange experiences on parliamentary procedures, challenges and oversight mechanisms in the field of defence and security, with a particular focus on information security challenges in SEE.
