The Deputy Speaker expressed her belief that the conference will be the beginning of successful cooperation, which in turn result in a guarantee of peace and stability in the Western Balkans. She pointed out all the problems and violations of human and civil rights that Serbs face in Kosovo-Metohija.

"Serbia is the guarantor of peace and stability in the Western Balkans. Behind us are very challenging times in which we lost, in large part, because we made mistakes in some assessments. This time at the head of the Republic we have a strong leader, Mr Aleksandar Vucic, who represents the independent and autonomous politics of this country, which has both feet on the ground and is very aware of its position and its strength, as well as the fact that it cannot solve many challenges alone, and that is why the strategic partnership with the USA is very important to us," said Ragus.

She expressed the hope that during the Conference special attention will be devoted to finding concrete operational solutions for the Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija, a European people who in the 21st century are denied the level of human rights that are confirmed by all international conventions, concluded the National Assembly Deputy Speaker.

During the Conference, the attendees were addressed by US Ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill, Major General John C. Harris from the Ohio National Guard and Vladimir Marinkovic, founder of the Serbian-American Friendship Congress, as well as Congressman Robert Aderholt via video message.

There panels covered the following topics: Economy, investments and Strategic Economic Cooperation between Serbia and the USA; Serbia and the USA, Strategic Dialogue And Partnership for the 21st Century and The Role of public and Cultural Diplomacy in Strengthening Serbia-US Relations.
