National Assembly Deputy Speaker and Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee Marina Ragus met with a delegation of the China Institute of International Studies headed by Chen Bo, director of the institute and secretary-general of the Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy Studies Centre.
The delegation of the China Institute of International Studies is visiting Belgrade to take part in the two-day conference dedicated to Chinese foreign policy, "Dialogues on China 2025", which brought together 130 participants from over 30 countries.
Deputy Speaker Ragus thanked the former Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Serbia, Chen Bo, for her engagement and contribution to the improvement of cooperation between the two countries. She emphasised the strength of the steely friendship that has lasted for more than seven decades, with a special focus on the success our two countries have achieved in building Community for Shared Future in New Era as a new stage in the development of mutual relations. In the course of the conversation, the participants highlighted the need for a common communication strategy, especially in light of the current geopolitical circumstances.
Reflecting on the overall level of cooperation achieved by our countries and emphasising the importance of the overall strategic partnership, the participants agreed that it is important to nurture and further improve relations both through the exchange of experiences in areas of mutual importance, as well as by maintaining the dynamics of meetings and further improving overall and interparliamentary cooperation.
