National Assembly Speaker Ana Brnabic Meets with Chinese Ambassador to Serbia

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic met today with Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Ming.

Brnabic shared the view with Ming that the parliamentary cooperation between the two countries is extremely good and expressed her satisfaction with the meeting she had with the Vice President of the National People's Congress Jie Xiao during the recent assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Geneva.

The officials agreed that the Memorandum of Understanding between the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China, as well as the Protocol on the Establishment of a Joint Commission, speak of extremely good relations and cooperation between the two parliaments, and that the announced visit of the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, will contribute to the comprehensive strategic partnership and sincere friendship.

Ambassador Ming wished Speaker Brnabic success in her new position, congratulating her on her dedication and everything she did as Prime Minister of Serbia and expressing the belief that her further efforts will continue to contribute to the development of the country and the strengthening of Serbian-Chinese steely friendship.

Ming also pointed out that the People's Republic of China continues to provide unwavering support and respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia, and expressed dissatisfaction with the decision of the PACE Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy to recommend that so-called Kosovo be admitted into the Council of Europe.
