National Assembly Speaker Meets with UK Special Envoy to Western Balkans
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic met today with the UK Special Envoy to the Western Balkans Karen Pierce.
The meeting focused on key issues of European integration, the rule of law and parliamentary cooperation.
Brnabic stressed that Serbia's European path is a strategic priority and that institutions remain committed to implementing reforms, including the recommendations of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR). She underscored the importance of constructive dialogue in parliament and the inclusion of all relevant stakeholders in improving the electoral framework.
She particularly emphasised the importance of strengthening regional cooperation, stressing that security and stability in the Western Balkans are of vital interest to our country.
The officials agreed that strengthening parliamentary cooperation is important for expanding mutual understanding and exchanging experiences in the field of democracy and reforms.
Special Envoy Karen Pierce invited the National Assembly to participate in the upcoming conference within the Berlin Process, emphasising Serbia's importance in the promotion of regional cooperation and European integration.
