National Assembly Speaker Receives Egyptian Ambassador

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic met today with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt Basel Salah, on the occasion of her assumption of a new post.

Ambassador Salah congratulated Speaker Brnabic on her assumption of a new post, stressing that the 115 plus years of friendship between Serbia and Egypt are a firm basis for the continuation of diplomatic relations.

Speaker Brnabic reaffirmed Serbia’s commitment to strengthening political and economic cooperation between the two countries which would be furthered by the signing of a Free Trade Agreement with Egypt. The Agreement would open up new possibilities, mutually beneficial for the development of both countries.

The Speaker also said that Egypt’s participation in the EXPO 2027 Specialised International Exhibition would be a great honour for Serbia.

The friendly meeting was concluded with a mutual wish for the further improvement of cooperation between Serbia and Egypt in a number of fields.
