National Assembly Speaker Receives Greek Ambassador to Serbia
The National Assembly Speaker, Dr Nebojsa Stefanovic, received the Greek Ambassador to Serbia, H.E. Constantine Economides, in a courtesy visit.
The National Assembly Speaker and the Greek Ambassador discussed a variety of issues with a special focus on the two countries’ economic situation, agreeing that both Greece and Serbia should, next year, begin to feel the first effects of the reforms and start to emerge from the crisis. They also agreed that the level of political cooperation between the two countries is admirably high.
Ambassador Economides said he didn’t expect any impediments to the beginning of the talks between the European Union and Serbia. He stressed that the ties between the two parliaments in the process are very important, especially in view of the two nations’ long-standing traditional friendship. The Greek Ambassador to Serbia again invited the Speaker Stefanovic to visit Greece, which the National Assembly Speaker was very pleased to accept. They agreed that the best time to visit Greece would be after it has begun its presidency of the European Union at the beginning of next year.
