National Assembly to Take Part in NATO PA 66th Annual Session

The NATO Parliamentary Assembly (NATO PA) 66th Annual Session, 18-23 November 2020, formally hosted by Greece, will be the institutions’ very first virtual session in history.


At the opening ceremony, the attending will be addressed, online, by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and on the first day the NATO PA will have a debate on five reports on the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the debate, the attending will be presented the following reports: “The Impact of the COVID-19 Crisis on the Civil Dimension of Security”, “NATO’s Essential Role in the COVID-19 Pandemic”, “The Economic Consequences of the COVID-19 Pandemic”, “COVID-19, International Security and the Importance of NATO STO” and “COVID-19 and Transatlantic Security”.

The rest of the reports will be discussed at the meetings of the five NATO PA sub-committees, and on Saturday, 21 November, the Defence and Security Committee will deliberate on the report “Key Challenges to Maintaining Peace and Security in the Western Balkans” by rapporteur Jean-Charles Larsonneur (France).

The plenary debate is planned for Monday, 23 November, when the NATO PA will elect a new leadership.

At the NATO PA 66th Annual Session, the National Assembly will be represented by MPs Dragan Sormaz, Prof.Dr Zoran Dragisic, Vladimir Djukanovic and Zarko Micin.
