Ninth Sitting of the Foreign Affairs Committee

The Foreign Affairs Committee sitting held on 29 December saw the completion of the constitution of parliamentary friendship groups with 55 states by the election of parliamentary group heads and members. It was agreed that parliamentary friendship groups with Azerbaijan, Albania, Slovenia, Armenia, Sweden and Norway would be constituted subsequently, after additional consultation.

The Committee members considered several issues related to the National Assembly’s parliamentary cooperation in the upcoming period. The Committee endorsed the initiative and decided to invite a joint delegation of the European Affairs Committee and Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament of the Slovak Republic to pay a return visit.

The Committee members went on to consider the upcoming regular activities of the National Assembly’s standing delegations in international organisations and adopted several reports on realised visits.

The sitting was chaired by Milos Aligrudic, Committee Chairman.
