Polish Delegation Visits National Assembly
A delegation of the Republic of Poland, headed by Vice-President of the Podlasie region Valenti Koritski, visited the National Assembly on 8 July and met with the Head of the National Assembly’s standing delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy Aleksandar Cotric, Head of the parliamentary Friendship Group with Poland Borislav Stefanovic and PFG members Dr Gordana Zoric and Balint Pasztor.
Presenting the Podlasie region, Koritski said it was well-known for its agriculture, food production and dairy processing. In view of the importance of agricultural production in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, the officials agreed that it would be useful to prompt regional cooperation between Vojvodina and the Podlasie region with a view to exchanging agricultural experience.
Poland’s European Union accession experience is also very important for Serbia, especially that relating to project drafting and efficient use of European agricultural development funds, the officials agreed.
They also pointed out the significance of deepening cultural cooperation between Serbia and Poland, something which would benefit from the photo exhibit “Colours of Orthodoxy – Poland”, organised by the Polish Embassy in Belgrade, the opening of which would also be attended by the Polish delegation.
