Ragus Receives Cambodian Ambassador
The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Marina Ragus met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the Republic of Serbia Tan Bunpa.
The officials agreed that Serbia and Cambodia enjoy friendly relations and good cooperation that shows room for improvement. They also believe that interparliamentary cooperation plays an important role in that regard, and the emphasised that the establishment of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Cambodia is expected as soon as possible. The Deputy Speaker underlined the determination of the Republic of Serbia to cultivate good relations with the countries of Southeast Asia, which is one of the most important regions for our country. Ragus went on to say that the National Assembly is expected to have a full term of office and that a calendar of its activities is being prepared, which will also aim to plan bilateral meetings at the level of the Foreign Affairs Committee and parliamentary delegations.
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia Tan Bunpa emphasized that Cambodia has always supported Serbia and its territorial integrity and strongly supports the rule of law. He announced that a Cambodian embassy will soon be opened in Belgrade, expressing hope that it will contribute to the deepening of friendly relations between the two countries.
