Second Sitting of the Action Group for Political System Reform

At the second sitting of the Action Group for Political System Reform, held on 10 June, the Group members discussed the Proposal of operating rules of the Action Group for Political System Reform.

The proposed operating rules cover the time the MPs have at their disposal to submit political reform proposals, the number of members of the subgroups to be set up within the Action Group and the presence of media representatives at the Action Group sittings.

According to the proposed operating rules, within the 120-minute hearings the individual MPs will be allowed a 10-minute address, while parliamentary group representatives will be granted 40 minutes, a time that will also be granted to MPs whose parties are not in the parliament and whose opinion will also be taken into consideration in the debates, said the Chairman of the Action Group, Zoran Babic.

The Action Group members agreed to raise the number of members of the subgroups to be set up within the Action Group by one i.e. from three to four members – one representative of the biggest minority parliamentary party, three members of the biggest parliamentary parties one of which at least is to come from the biggest opposition party.

The Group members agreed that the Action Group sittings would be open to the public, unless decided otherwise.

The Proposal of operating rules of the Action Group for Political System Reform was adopted at the sitting.

The Action Group then went ahead to adopt the order of participation of parliamentary parties in specific hearings and adopted the proposed invitation to the public to take part in the hearing.

The sitting was chaired by the Chairman of the Action Group, Zoran Babic.
