Security Services Control Committee Visits Military Security Agency
On 23 December 2022, the members of the Security Services Control Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia visited the Military Security Agency.
The Committee members were received by the Director of the Military Security Agency Major General Djuro Jovanic and associates. At the Committee Chairman’s request, the Director of the Military Security Agency informed the Security Services Control Committee members about current security situation and developments in Kosovo-Metohija which may reflect on the security situation of the Republic of Serbia. It was assessed that the Military Security Agency is at all times ready to respond to all security challenges and perform all tasks set before it.
The Committee members were presented the competences and organisation of the Military Security Agency, after which they had the opportunity to visit the premises of the Military Security Agency, talk with the Agency members and get answers to all of their questions.
In the course of the visit to the Military Security Agency, the Committee members also visited its Museum exhibit and the Hall of Heroes. On behalf of the Security Services Control Committee, Committee Chairman MA Igor Becic laid a wreath to the members of the Military Security Service who died from 1991 to 2001.
In the coming period, the Committee will visit the armed forces of the Republic of Serbia in the Land Security Zone, as well as the regional centres of the Military Security Agency, Military Intelligence Agency and Security Information Agency.
In addition to Committee Chairman MA Igor Becic, the following Committee members and deputy members also took part in the visit: Aleksandar Markovic, Jasmina Obradovic, Darko Jovanovic, Ugljesa Markovic, Nenad Tomasevic and Nikola Dragicevic.
