Seventh Sitting of the Committee on Urban Planning and Construction
At the sitting held on 29 June, the members of the Committee on Urban Planning and Construction considered in principle the Proposal of the Decision on Stimulating the Construction Industry of the Republic of Serbia in the conditions of global economic crisis, submitted by the Government of the Republic of SerbiaThe representative of the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning presented the Bill in brief stressing that it is the result of an agreement between construction operatives and the Serbian Government aimed to assist the construction industry to overcome the deepest crisis it has faced in the past 60 years.

The representative of the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning presented the Bill in brief stressing that it is the result of an agreement between construction operatives and the Serbian Government aimed to assist the construction industry to overcome the deepest crisis it has faced in the past 60 years.
The short discussion focused on the manner of determining the criteria for the selection of companies to realise individual construction projects. Based on an ordinance or another special document, the Government shall set the criteria under which every domestic company would be able to compete for a project that would be called under the Law on Public Procurements.
Considering that the sitting lacked decision-making quorum, the Committee members shall vote on the Bill in principle at the next sitting.
